About the Artist

With more than 17 years of experience in exploring hot glass as an artistic medium, I am proud to display a wide variety of unique designs in hand-blown glass and glass sculpture. The cornerstone of our continued success is our commitment to visionary design and quality craftsmanship.

Working glass on this scale is a labor of love. With as many as three assistants the main glass blower or “gaffer” orchestrates his team toward the completion of each piece. The timing, temperature, and delivery of every molten morsel of glass to the gaffer’s bench adheres to a seemingly choreographed process developed by the artist.

This “ballet” its’ rhythm, and tempo can easily delight onlookers with the successful rendering of a beautiful work in glass, or dismay as an unexpected upset lands a partial work on the floor with a shattering crash. For this, the process of hand-blown glass is very much a performance art form. It is this drama that keeps a steady flow of visitors to our doors seeking an unusual experience in the arts or to discover a unique gift of fine art glass.

My state of the art studio is housed in an old historical barn along the scenic route of Allegheny Springs Road, which stretches from 460 in Shawsville into beautiful Floyd County. Our small facility consists of a glass blowing studio and a small gallery space where visitors can view over 300 original works.

In addition to the pieces on display, we offer a wide range of services including commissioned design, architectural lighting, antique replication and restoration and just about any other adventure in glass. Visitors are encouraged to call ahead and stop in for a look or make an appointment to meet the artist.

The Vitroyoyo Glass Studio is the 'fledgling brainchild' of master glass artist Timothy J. Burke.
